Directions for Sem sure-coat recoloring of leather: clean with Sem plastic/leather prep --- spray over leather liberally and scrub with gray pad and wipe dry with lint free cloth. add Sem crosslinker (increases adhesion and aids resistance to general household cleaners) to recolorant according to directions on bottle. spray or brush in light coats. If brushing, use foam brush and do not be in a hurry to achieve coverage. Let dry in between coats. If spraying, spray in light mist coats, again not being in a hurry for coverage. Have adequate ventilation (fan is good) to dry completely between coats. If you do not have spray equipment, check out the economical power pak sprayer (good for sure-coat).
(refer to recommended reducer mentioned above).

Directions for Sem Sure-Coat recoloring of vinyl: clean first with Sem Soap----squeeze a bead onto area; spray some water and scrub with green pad; wipe dry with lint free cloth. clean second with Sem WB vinyl prep----spray liberally over area; scrub with green pad; wipe dry with lint free cloth. Sem recommends rinsing with water now. Sem surface cleaner #3838 can also be used as a substitute cleaner for this step. Pour your chosen color of sure-coat into the container you will be working from. Add Sem crosslinker according to directions and shake up well.

Apply same as directions in leather recoloring above.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

EXTRA TIPS:If you are just recoloring some hard plastic pieces, prior to recoloring you can prep the area with Sem aerosol plastic adhesion promoter or XXX adhesion promoter for all surfaces. If you want more grain or texture on the dashboard or hard plastic pieces, spray on the aerosol Sem texture coating. If you are just recoloring your dashboard, an optional prep to spray on prior to recoloring with Sem color coat is the Sem aerosol Sand Free product. Do not use Sand Free with Sem sure-coat.

All of this is not difficult work and you can definitely achieve a professional result.

Classic Coat by SEM for vinyl or leather only!!!! Use the same cleaners and preps mentioned above depending if you are spraying vinyl or leather. Since these are aerosols, there is, of course, no crosslinker additive or reducer.

Directions for recoloring “soft vinyl” with Sem Color Coat. Clean first with Sem soap --- Squeeze out a bead of Sem Soap over area; spray on some water; scrub with green pad and wipe dry with lint free towel. clean second with Sem WB vinyl prep (Sem surface cleaner #3838 can also be used)--- spray on and scrub with green pad; wipe dry with lint free towel. Sem recommends rinsing with water at this point.

(If using aerosols, spray at a cooler time of the day and when there is low humidity to avoid spraying problems.)

Put paint into spray container adding 5-10% vinyl retarder to help increase adhesion and give paint a better “flow” and spray in light coats.

For dashboard type material --- prep with Sem sand free prior to recoloring.

For hard plastic --- Sem recommends cleaning with Sem scuff & clean and plastic prep --- prior to recoloring, prep with Sem plastic adhesion promoter or XXX adhesion promoter for all surfaces.
